Young Five Toddlers Program

Toddlers, by nature, are active learners and therefore need plenty of opportunities for “hands on” learning experiences. The Sunny Pointe program gives your toddler a safe and secure learning environment with consistent and caring teachers in a large open space to explore.

The toddler group consists of three groups; transition group I, for children between the ages of 12 through 14 months. Transition group II, for children between the ages of 15 through 20 months, and the older toddlers group for children 20 through 34 months.

Transition Toddler Group Program (12-20 Months)

The schedule in the transition room begins by focusing on activities involving small groups of 4 children. The Transition Room consists of:
  • Secure base of support for exploration and discovery
  • Safe and interesting environment
  • Consistent attentive staff
  • Toys to practice learning schemes such as puzzles, books, soft blocks and nesting toys.

Older Toddler Group (20-34 Months)

Learning experiences in the older toddler group expands on the transitional group.
The Older Toddler learns

  • Increased language development
  • Interest in joining groups of children
  • Development of fine motor control
  • Learning and singing songs
  • Following a routine
  • Independence
  • Awareness of self and others
  • Desire to explore environment freely
Learning experiences in these groups support the: Social/Emotional, Cognitive Communication and the Fine Motor/Gross Motor areas of development.
